Become a Farmer!

Cary is now accepting applications for its 2026 Farmer Training Program at Good Hope Farm, offering aspiring farmers a chance to begin or expand their own agribusiness. Participants can sublet affordable plots at the town’s historic teaching farm and make use of shared tools and infrastructure, including irrigation, equipment, refrigeration, and a washing and packing station.
The program is designed for individuals with some farming experience who want to take the next step in running their own operation. It’s run in partnership with the Piedmont Conservation Council and provides resources such as a Farmer Handbook and sample business plans to help participants get started. More information is available at carync.gov/goodhopefarm.

This edition of Cary Digest is sponsored by Cary artist Isabella Yarns!
For Isabella, fiber is more than a craft. She uses yarn the way painters use color, layering texture and tone to bring her ideas to life. Each creation, whether tapestries or a wearable piece, carries her signature mix of precision and playfulness.
Her love for crochet started young, learning her first stitches from her Oma and later perfecting them in college when her creativity took off. Isabella’s work blurs the line between art and comfort, proving that something made by hand can be both expressive and deeply personal.

Restaurant Spotlight: Superica – Fenton

Superica at Fenton delivers bold, Texas-inspired plates with a focus on high-quality ingredients and simple, confident flavors. The menu leans into classics like queso fundido, enchiladas with rich chili gravy, wood-grilled fajitas, and tacos al carbon, all prepared with the kind of attention that turns familiar dishes into standouts. Portions are generous, the tortillas are fresh, and the kitchen puts real care into seasoning and texture.
The space is polished and colorful, with both indoor seating and a large patio that works well for lunch, dinner, or weekend brunch. Service is consistently attentive, and the restaurant’s location in the center of Fenton makes it an easy pick for a relaxed meal, a family outing, or a night out with friends. Superica has quickly become one of Cary’s most dependable spots for Tex-Mex done right.
