The Cary Town Council is considering a pause on new data centers to better assess their environmental impact. Last night’s discussion lasted until close to 11pm with members expressing concerns about the water capacity at Jordan Lake, which serves 770,000 people and is shared with other municipalities, and land and energy costs. Data centers are running into opposition from communities all over the country. Wake, Chatham, and Orange Counties have one-year moratoriums already in place.

The CaryLIVE! free concert series kicks off this Saturday with Fancy Gap taking the stage at 7:30pm at the Downtown Cary Park Great Lawn & Pavilion. Cary will welcome eight baseball teams, super-regional winners from all over the country, as they compete for the national trophy at the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship Finals from May 29th through June 6th at the newly renovated USA Baseball National Training Complex.
