Happy Friday, Cary!
Fun fact: this is the 50th edition of Cary Digest! A huge thank you from me to all of you, especially those who have been reading since the first issue. It means so much to me and I can’t believe my side project from earlier this year is now read by 10,000 people!
And to those of you who just signed up, I hope you love it as much as the few hundred people who have opened every single email!
Anyway, here’s what you can expect in today’s issue:

NEW Major Pedestrian Bridge

Heads up, Cary! Starting Monday, July 21, NW Cary Parkway will close to through traffic between Norwell Blvd and N Harrison Avenue as crews build the new pedestrian bridge over Black Creek. Local residents can still get to their homes, but everyone else will need to follow a detour from Norwell Blvd to Weston Parkway and N Harrison Avenue.

This closure is all about safety while the bridge structure goes up. When finished, the bridge will finally connect the missing sidewalk gap along Cary Parkway—making it easier (and safer) to walk or roll between neighborhoods, parks, schools, and businesses. Bonus: the bridge will feature new art elements too.
Traffic will be detoured to Norwell Blvd, Weston Parkway, and Harrison Avenue, while local traffic will be maintained.

Restaurant Spotlight: V Pizza!
V Pizza in Cary brings serious wood-fired pizza to the Triangle. The restaurant uses authentic brick ovens imported from Italy, giving their pies the charred, chewy crust that sets Neapolitan-style pizza apart. They stick to traditional ingredients like San Marzano tomatoes and bufala mozzarella, and you can taste the difference.
The menu isn’t just limited to classic Margherita and pepperoni. You’ll find unique specialty pizzas like the Mac Attack and Piccante, plus wings that are roasted, not fried, and pack real flavor. Gluten-free and cauliflower crust options are available, and they actually get good reviews from people who usually skip gluten-free pizza.
V Pizza also has a solid beer selection at their Tap Garden, with local North Carolina brews and plenty of seating indoors and out. Whether you’re with friends or family, it’s a straightforward, high-quality spot for anyone who cares about pizza done right.
Adoptable Dog of the Week: Truffle

This tiny bundle of joy is Truffle, a precious Chihuahua mix puppy with a heart as big as his ears! Truffle is a sweet little boy who absolutely loves to be held and will shower you with endless kisses. He’s playful, cuddly, and just about as cute as can be — seriously, it’s impossible not to fall in love.
Whether he's snuggled in your arms or bouncing around with puppy energy, Truffle brings pure happiness wherever he goes.
Ready to add a tiny, tail-wagging sweetheart to your life? Truffle is waiting just for you!

Town Updates
Pittard Sears Street Side Trail Construction
Cary has started work on a new sidewalk along the south side of Pittard Sears Road, closing a quarter-mile gap between the American Tobacco Trail and O'Kelly Chapel Road. The project will connect several neighborhoods to the regional trail system and includes new curbs, gutters, drainage, and street lights. Lane closures may happen during construction, but not during peak travel times to help keep traffic moving.
