The Force Was Strong in Cary for Star Wars Day Celebration

Jedi robes, lightsabers, and stormtrooper helmets filled Downtown Cary Park on Sunday as families gathered to celebrate Star Wars Day.

The May 4th event featured live entertainment, craft stations, and appearances by fan-favorite characters. Many attendees came dressed in full costume, embracing the galaxy far, far away with enthusiasm.

Though not an official holiday, Star Wars Day has become a beloved annual tradition in Cary. Sunday's event drew fans of all ages, turning the park into a bustling hub of cosplay, lightsaber duels, and galactic-themed fun that brought the community together.

In Cary, the force—and the fun—was definitely with them.

🎵 Charity of the Week: Cary-Apex Youth Choir

The Cary-Apex Youth Choir is hitting all the right notes… literally.

This nonprofit provides young singers in our community with high-quality choral training, performance opportunities, and a space to grow both musically and personally. With ensembles for kids in grades 2–12, the choir fosters confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of music.

Whether they’re performing at local festivals or collaborating with professional musicians, these young voices are making Cary proud.

Barks and Bond at Bond Brothers

Love dogs? Curious about fostering or volunteering? Stop by Barks and Bond at Bond Brothers Beer Company on Wednesday, May 7 from 6–8 PM.

It’s a laid-back, drop-in style event where you can chat with folks from the Wake County Animal Center, meet adoptable pups, and learn how to get involved—all while enjoying a pint. No pressure, just puppies and good people.

Trivia Night at The Bark Bar

Think you’re the trivia champ of Cary? Prove it Thursday, May 8 from 6–8 PM at Trivia Night in Downtown Cary Park’s Bark Bar! Hosted by the crew from Hammered Trivia, this free event brings together clever questions, cold drinks, and good vibes.
