The Cup Comes Home: Hurricanes Win the Stanley Cup, Parade Saturday

The Carolina Hurricanes are Stanley Cup champions for the first time in 20 years. The Triangle's team capped a dominant postseason on Sunday, June 14, defeating the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0 in Game 6 to win the best-of-seven Final four games to two. Forward Jordan Staal, who led Carolina in scoring during the series, was named the playoff's Most Valuable Player. Head coach Rod Brind'Amour, captain of the franchise's 2006 championship team, delivered its second title, this time from behind the bench. It is the second Stanley Cup in Hurricanes history and the first since that 2006 run.
The celebration now moves home. A championship parade is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, beginning at 11 a.m. in downtown Raleigh, and the day has been proclaimed "Carolina Hurricanes Day." The parade route and road closures were still being finalized as of this writing, so fans planning to go should check for the latest before heading out. Full logistics are in Community Events below. Throughout the Final, hundreds of fans packed the free watch parties held on the Great Lawn at Downtown Cary Park.
Costco Shoppers Say This Gem Is "All You Need" To Remove Wrinkles
Women over 50 are calling Auvoria's Korean-formulated serum their secret to looking years younger without needles or expensive treatments. Experts say it targets the #1 cause of wrinkles many skincare brands ignore: collagen-signal breakdown deep beneath the skin's surface. Users report smoother lines, firmer-looking skin, and a tighter, more lifted appearance in as little as 4 weeks. It's become one of Costco's most talked-about beauty finds — and now you can try the same formula online without a membership.

Restaurant Spotlight: Geluna Gelato
If the championship has you in a celebrating mood, downtown Cary has a good way to mark it. Geluna Gelato, the small-batch shop on East Chatham Street, was named the best gelato outside of Italy by Southern food magazine The Local Palate in its Summer 2026 issue. The husband-and-wife owners trained at Carpigiani's Gelato University in Bologna before opening in Cary, and every batch is made in-house with fresh, local ingredients like Homeland Creamery milk and North Carolina honey, with no artificial flavors.
The menu rotates seasonal creations like Honey Lavender and Strawberry Pineapple Sorbet alongside year-round classics, and the magazine singled out the sea-salt caramel and stracciatella as must-tries. There are dairy-free and gluten-free options, plus Australian-style espresso drinks if you'd rather sip than scoop. It sits a five-minute walk from Downtown Cary Park, so you can pair a cup with a stroll.
