🎲 Hobby Heist: $11K in Warhammer Loot Stolen from Cary Shop

A man is facing multiple charges after allegedly stealing nearly $11,000 worth of Warhammer figures and other collectibles from Hangar 18 Hobbies in Cary. According to Cary police, surveillance footage appears to show the man removing items from display cases and concealing them in a small container. Authorities say the thefts took place over several visits and involved the use of distractions, including children.

Investigators report that a search of alleged man’s residence led to the recovery of merchandise valued at $10,946.47, including multiple Warhammer kits and trading cards. He has been charged with 12 counts of misdemeanor larceny. The case remains under investigation, and no trial date has been set.

Town Updates

🏛️ Cary Juneteenth Closures & Schedule Updates

In observance of Juneteenth, most Town of Cary facilities—including community centers, the Citizen's Convenience Center, and arts venues—will be closed Thursday, June 19, and reopen Friday, June 20. Curbside collection normally scheduled for Thursday will shift to Friday, June 20.

GoCary will run a regular weekday schedule on all fixed and door-to-door routes. Parks such as Downtown Cary Park, Bond Park Boathouse, Cary Tennis Park, and Cary Action Sports will remain open with adjusted hours. For full Juneteenth event info, visit downtowncarypark.com/juneteenth.
