Cary’s Hometown Spirit Award is Now Open!

Nominations are now open for Cary’s 2025 Hometown Spirit Award, the annual honor that recognizes residents who make Cary a better place to live. Since 2009, the award has celebrated citizens who embody small-town values—hospitality, integrity, leadership, and community pride. As Mayor Weinbrecht explained, the award highlights “neighbors who give their time, talents, and kindness to make this a better place for all of us.”

Cary citizens ages 21 and older are eligible, and nominees should demonstrate leadership, integrity, and a commitment to community life. Finalists will be recognized at a special reception on November 17, 2025, where the winner will be announced. Nominations are open through September 19, 2025, and forms are available at carync.gov/spirit

Restaurant Spotlight: Baker's Dozen Donut Shop
