Potential Winter Storm This Weekend

Cary could see a major winter storm this weekend, according to the latest National Weather Service forecasts. Snow is expected to begin late Friday night, with steadier snowfall developing Saturday and continuing into Sunday. Temperatures are forecast to stay at or below freezing through the entire period, creating conditions favorable for accumulating snow and icy roads.
Forecasters say travel could become hazardous as snowfall increases Saturday and persists into Sunday night. There is also a chance of a wintry mix late Sunday, which could worsen road conditions. Residents are encouraged to prepare for possible disruptions and to monitor official weather updates as the storm approaches.
I highly recommend checking out North Carolina’s Weather Authority. This is run by another NC State grad and he is the only person I’d trust with forecasts in NC!

Restaurant Spotlight: La Farm Bakery!

La Farm Bakery has become a Cary staple by blending old world baking traditions with a warm neighborhood feel. Founded by master baker Lionel Vatinet, the bakery is known for its naturally fermented breads, flaky croissants, and rustic loaves baked daily. The aroma alone pulls you in, but it is the attention to craft that keeps locals coming back, from the crusty country bread to the delicate pastries lined up each morning.
Beyond the bread, La Farm serves as a gathering place for the community. The Cary café buzzes with families, remote workers, and friends lingering over coffee, sandwiches, and seasonal treats. Whether you stop in for a quick baguette or settle in for lunch, La Farm Bakery offers a simple reminder that great food, made with care, brings people together.

Town Updates
Biennial Citizen Satisfaction Survey
The Town of Cary is launching its 2026 Biennial Citizen Satisfaction Survey, with researchers calling about 400 randomly selected households beginning January 12. The 20-minute telephone survey will ask residents about topics such as taxes, customer service, and town programs and initiatives. Conducted every two years since 1998, the survey helps Town Council and staff understand community priorities and measure how well Cary is meeting residents’ needs. Residents who receive a call are encouraged to participate.
Let me know if you get the call!
