News

Old Apex Road Closure: October 24–November 2

Old Apex Road will close between High House Road and SW Maynard Road from Friday, October 24 through Sunday, November 2 for the Old Apex Road Waterline Reinforcement Project. The closure allows crews to install a new 24-inch water main connection near the intersection of Old Apex Road and SW Maynard Road, part of a larger effort to strengthen Cary’s water system infrastructure.

Detours will guide drivers around the closure, and extended work hours between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. have been approved to help shorten the timeline. The Town of Cary thanks residents for their patience during this improvement project. For more details, visit carync.gov/waterprojects

Artist Spotlight: Isabella Yarns!

This week’s artist spotlight is on Cary artist Isabella Yarns!

For Isabella, fiber is more than a craft. She uses yarn the way painters use color, layering texture and tone to bring her ideas to life. Each creation, whether tapestries or a wearable piece, carries her signature mix of precision and playfulness.

Her love for crochet started young, learning her first stitches from her Oma and later perfecting them in college when her creativity took off. Isabella’s work blurs the line between art and comfort, proving that something made by hand can be both expressive and deeply personal.
